This is an update to the over-the-air (ota) installer that downloads system updates. this update is necessary to enable the upgrade to android 5.x, lollipop for the following devices: moto g (1st gen.) moto e (1st gen.) moto x (1st gen.) moto g with 4g lte (1st gen.) all users with these devices should accept this update.. The 2nd gen moto g also launched without any 4g support, but motorola has since fazed out this model in favour of a proper 4g version. be careful when buying, though, as some of the 3g version may. Motorola has released update for moto g 1st gen. matt jones answer is also something that you need to check. if your phone is in carrier contract, you may have to wait until your network provider roll out updates..

Bro i think moto g 2nd gen is already eligible to get lollipop update. only 1st gen users need to update in order to get a future update.. Moto g is powered by android ™ 4.4, kitkat
